Emergency Department Assessment of Chest Pain Score (EDACS)

Identifies chest pain patients with low risk of major adverse cardiac event.

This score only applies to patients:

  • ≥18 years old with normal vital signs
  • Chest pain consistent with ACS
  • No ongoing chest pain or crescendo angina

Sex

Known coronary artery disease or ≥3 risk factors

  • Family history of coronary artery disease, hypertension, hypercholesterolemia, diabetes, or current smoker.
  • The risk factors only apply to patients 18-50.

Symptoms and Signs

Diaphoresis

Radiates to arm or shoulder

Pain occurred or worsened with inspiration

Pain is reproduced by palpation
