1. Dedicated pain management teams with the ability to place nerve blocks and epidurals for acute pain management.

Standardized processes including but not limited to: d Preoperative optimization/surgery-readiness protocols for high-risk patients.to assess multimodal patient needs, including nutrition, medication use, smoking cessation, and pain control, and d Discharge and postdischarge protocols to ensure safe pain and wound management, appropriate follow-up, and continuity of care

Postoperative education for the d Explanation of the expected course of postoperative care, including instructions regarding wound management, diet, medications, pain management, lifestyle, and physical activity modifications d Signs and symptoms of complications, such as tachycardia, fever, shortness of breath, excessive pain, and vomiting, including when and whom to call, and d Ongoing involvement in treatment planning and access to care coordination.
