IASLC 2026 Conference Preview of Oral Sessions at WCLC

The International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) is preparing for its 2026 annual meeting, the World Conference on Lung Cancer (WCLC) set for September 12 through September 15 in Seoul, South Korea. The conference sees the international community of healthcare professionals, patients, research groups, and advocates dedicated to lung cancer prevention, diagnosis, and care gather for days filled with research presentations and collaboration.

To prepare attendees for the event, we’re taking some time to highlight the oral sessions currently scheduled for the 2026 WCLC. All times and dates are accurate as of August 13, 2026. • Rethinking Lung Cancer Screening — AI, Equity, and Early Detection Beyond Traditional Risk

• Redefining Perioperative Therapy in Resectable NSCLC Integrating Immunotherapy and Molecular Targeted Strategies to Improve Cure

  • Description: This session will highlight current evidence regarding lymphadenectomy, segmentectomy, sleeve resection, and complex surgical approaches, alongside evolving standards for local control and minimally invasive surgery. Presentations will also explore emerging prognostic and biologic factors, including tumor centrality, IASLC grading, mutation-based risk stratification, and immunogenomic features associated with nodal metastasis and tumor aggressiveness.

• From Discovery to Practice in SCLC: Redefining Standards of Care and the Next Generation of Targeted Therapies

  • Description: This oral session presents the highest-rated abstracts in small cell lung cancer and neuroendocrine tumors, with a focus on practice-changing Phase 3 trials and novel targeted therapies including DLL3-directed bispecifics and CAR-T cell therapy, and B7-H3-targeted antibody-drug conjugates.

• Navigating Lung Cancer Advocacy Beyond Societal Barriers
  • 4:45 PM – 6:00 PM
  • Description: This session explores the multifaceted journey of lung cancer survivors navigating clinical and societal barriers. Presenters will examine the impact of patient-reported diarrhea on quality of life, the efficacy of nurse-led discharge support, and post-surgery return-to-work trajectories.

• New Horizons in Lung Cancer Prevention: Smoking Cessation, Air Pollution and Implementation Science

  • Description: This session expands the precision-oncology agenda well past KRAS G12C — into KRAS G12D. Alongside, two studies evaluate smarter frontline combinations in KRAS-mutant disease.
