The Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions (SCAI) and the Hearth Rhythm Society (HRS) have opened a guideline draft to public comment. The draft is a focused update of their clinical practice guideline on transcatheter left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO). The focused update is warranted by the recent completion of a trio of RCTs that potentially affect the guideline's recommendation on options of LAAO or oral anticoagulation for patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation.
The SCAI/HRS welcome feedback from all individuals, including SCAI members, patients, researchers, industry stakeholders, among others.
