Below, you will find a list of sessions focused on ablation that we are eagerly looking forward to at #HRS2025. The sessions are organized in chronological order for your convenience.

Pulsed Field Ablation: Current State and Future Directions

  • Date: Thu, Apr 24
  • Time: 6:30pm - 8:30pm (Pacific)
  • Location: Sapphire Ballroom MN - Hilton San Diego Bayfront
    • Description: This session will explore the emerging field of pulsed-field ablation (PFA) for cardiac arrhythmias, a nonthermal catheter ablation technique that offers promising results in atrial fibrillation (AF) treatment. PFA provides faster procedure times and improved durability compared to conventional methods, while posing lower risks to surrounding tissues. The discussion will cover key safety considerations, technical aspects, and clinical outcomes, making this session particularly relevant for healthcare professionals in electrophysiology.

Early Ambulation for Venous Vascular Closure and Improving Efficiency Through Esophageal Protection

  • Date: Fri, Apr 25
  • Time: 11:00am - 11:30am (Pacific)
  • Location: Skills Training Room D - Exhibit Hall, SDCC
    • Description: This session will focus on the VASCADE MVP XL system for venous vascular closure, using a resorbable thrombogenic collagen plug to achieve rapid hemostasis after electrophysiology (EP) procedures. The session will also cover the benefits of proactive esophageal cooling during RF ablation, demonstrated with the ensoETM system. Participants will gain hands-on experience with the technology and discuss its integration into clinical practice.

Medtronic Learning Lab: Next Era in Advanced Ablation and Mapping Technologies

  • Date: Fri, Apr 25
  • Time: 11:30am - 12:30pm (Pacific)
  • Location: Skills Training Room F - Exhibit Hall, SDCC
    • Description: The Medtronic Learning Lab will provide an interactive, hands-on learning experience, focusing on the PulseSelect™ Pulsed Field Ablation System and the Affera™ Mapping and Ablation System with Sphere-9™ catheter. Participants will engage in simulation-based learning and explore advanced mapping techniques with expert insights into the latest ablation technology innovations.

The J&J MedTech Electrophysiology Experience

  • Date: Fri, Apr 25
  • Time: 12:00pm - 1:00pm (Pacific)
  • Location: Skills Training Room A - Exhibit Hall, SDCC
    • Description: This hands-on educational workshop, sponsored by Johnson & Johnson MedTech, will allow participants to experience multiple simulation stations. These stations will focus on 3D CARTO™ mapping, advanced ICE technology, and the biophysics of ablation. Attendees will learn from experts and gain in-depth knowledge of ablation and mapping technologies.

When to Say NO to Catheter Ablation of VT/PVCs?

  • Date: Fri, Apr 25
  • Time: 4:00pm - 5:00pm (Pacific)
  • Location: Room 20BCD - SDCC
    • Description: This session will address the clinical decision-making process for patients with recurrent ventricular tachycardia (VT) or frequent premature ventricular contractions (PVCs). Focus will be placed on identifying when catheter ablation is not indicated or appropriate, as improvements in mapping and ablation technology have led to more frequent use of this intervention.

Epicardial Access Should Be Part of Every Structural VT Ablation Case

  • Date: Sat, Apr 26
  • Time: 9:45am - 10:45am (Pacific)
  • Location: Room 33A-C - SDCC
    • Description: A panel of experts will debate the significance of epicardial substrate in scar-related VT, including ischemic cardiomyopathy. The discussion will cover the role of epicardial access in structural VT ablation, with a focus on advanced imaging techniques and technical aspects of accessing the epicardial space.

AF Ablation Strategies and Controversies in 2025: Learn From the Experts

  • Date: Sat, Apr 26
  • Time: 11:15am - 12:15pm (Pacific)
  • Location: Room 24A-C - SDCC
    • Description: This session will review current ablation strategies for atrial fibrillation (AF) treatment, featuring expert discussions on various clinical scenarios. Topics include redo-ablation procedures, concomitant left atrial appendage closure during AF ablation, and ablation strategies used in pulsed-field ablation procedures.

Cardioneuroablation for the Treatment of Reflex Syncope and Functional Bradyarrhythmias: What We Learned From the EHRA/HRS/LAHRS Document (Joint Session)

  • Date: Sun, Apr 27
  • Time: 12:45pm - 2:00pm (Pacific)
  • Location: Room 6A - SDCC
    • Description: In this joint session with EHRA, HRS, and LAHRS, attendees will explore the rise of cardioneuroablation procedures in treating reflex syncope and functional bradyarrhythmias. The session will cover the available evidence, anatomical nomenclature, patient selection, and optimal ablation strategies, while also addressing the long-term consequences of these procedures.
