Every July is Juvenile Arthritis Month to help raise awareness for the hundreds of thousands of children around the world who are impacted by the condition. Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (formerly juvenile rheumatoid arthritis) is designated for children 16 years and younger who have chronic arthritis symptoms with no discernible cause.
Raising awareness of juvenile idiopathic arthritis is critical for encouraging early diagnosis, which then leads to earlier treatment and management. Because juvenile idiopathic arthritis causes joint inflammation, stiffness, swelling, and pain, the condition can severely impact the physical and mental health of a child.
Today we’re taking a look at some of the guidelines available regarding juvenile idiopathic arthritis.
