Welcome to another Weekly Guideline Recap. Here’s a quick rundown of the guidelines and consensus statements published last week.


Some of the guidelines published last week include: 

  • A new guideline from the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy on Endoscopic Management of Benign and Malignant Colonic Strictures
  • A new guideline from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence on Multiple Sclerosis in Adults: Management
  • A new guideline from the American Dental Association on Early Detection of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma and Potentially Malignant Disorders

There were also consensus statements published and that includes:

  • Two new guidance statements from the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis, one on Management of Women with Type 2B von Willebrand Disease During Pregnancy and Postpartum, and the other on Management of Anticoagulation in Patients with Heparin-Induced Thrombocytopenia Requiring Cardiac Surgery with Cardiopulmonary Bypass
  • A new expert consensus document from the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions and the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography on Fractional Flow Reserve in Coronary Computed Tomography Angiography
  • And a new consensus from the American Society of Echocardiography on Intraprocedural Imaging for Mitral Valve Transcatheter Edge-to-Edge Repair
