The European Society of Anesthesia and Intensive Care (ESAIC) supports anesthesiology and intensive care professionals with the development and distribution of research, networking, scientific, and educational resources.

Formerly the European Society of Anaesthesiologists, the current society became the ESAIC in October 2020. The ESAIC is governed by a board of directors, the general assembly, and a council that is elected by active members of the society from each European country with a minimum of 25 active members. In 2025, ESAIC celebrated 20 years of milestones, achievements, and continual support of professionals around Europe and the rest of the world.

Each year, the ESAIC gathers for the Euroanaesthesia conference — held in Lisbon in 2025 — where Europe’s anesthesia, intensive care, pain management, and perioperative medicine professionals gather for a few days of networking, presentations, education, and celebration.

Today, we have a curated list of ten ESAIC clinical guidelines that were published within the past three years. The guidelines are arranged in reverse chronological order, for your convenience.
