Abstract

This study aimed to determine whether the LACE index (length of stay, acuity of the hospital admission, comorbidities, emergency department visits in the previous 6 months) effectively identified patients at high risk for readmission compared to identification solely by use of discharge diagnoses associated with high readmission rates.
