Description
Keeping up with new information about non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) is daunting. Digesting and applying new information to clinical practice, that’s another hurdle. This accredited series is intended to help clinicians streamline the process. Each month, the editorial board of physician experts in the care of persons with NSCLC reviews the literature to identify 1 or 2 “hot-off-the-press” publications that deserve the spotlight. During a 15-minute peer-to-peer exchange, an editorial board member gains insight from the principal investigator as to why and how the trial was conducted and its implications for clinical practice.
Target Audience
This activity was developed for medical oncologists and clinical researchers involved in the management of patients with non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) requiring systemic therapy. The interprofessional, multidisciplinary care team (nurses, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, pathologists) will all benefit from updated education and insights into key clinical trials and clinical practice guideline updates that are transforming the care of patients with NSCLC.
Learning Objectives
  • Assess pharmacology mechanisms and biomarker utilization for novel and emerging therapies for advanced/metastatic NSCLC.
  • Describe emerging evidence and clinical data related to treatment advances for patients with metastatic/advanced NSCLC to improve clinician understanding and appreciation for novel therapies.
