The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) has recently released a draft statement on the Pharmacist's Role in Substance Use Disorder. This statement is now open for review and feedback from ASHP members and other qualified individuals.

ASHP notes the important role that pharmacists play in both the prevention and treatment of substance use disorders. Their responsibilities include providing clinical care to patients, supporting individuals in recovery, engaging in research and education, and advocating for the necessary resources to address this public health crisis.

As part of ASHP's ongoing development process, they invite members and other qualified individuals to review the draft statement and provide valuable feedback. Interested parties are encouraged to submit their comments here by March 5, 2025. Please be aware that ASHP does not accept anonymous comments on its guidance documents.
