The 2026 annual meeting of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP) is quickly approaching. From October 17 through October 20, in Salt Lake City, the 2026 annual meeting of the ACCP is four days of educational sessions, networking opportunities, and PRN meetings for clinical pharmacy professionals from around the world.

Today, we’re outlining key sessions currently scheduled to take place during the 2026 ACCP annual conference. Some descriptions were edited for clarity and brevity. Saturday, October 17

  • New Kids on the Block: Critical Care and Cardiovascular Guideline Updates​
    • 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
    • Description: This session will provide a synopsis of the most recent guideline updates in the fields of cardiovascular and critical care medicine, including but not limited to anticipated Neuromuscular Blockade Guidelines from the Society of Critical Care Medicine and new guideline statements from the American College of Cardiology on acute coronary syndromes, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic syndrome.
  • Rethinking Electrolyte Management: Challenging Outdated Practices on Potassium and Phosphorus Intake​
    • 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
    • Description: Recent research in chronic kidney disease (CKD) challenges long-standing practices regarding electrolyte restrictions, particularly potassium. This evidence-based review highlights the need to reconsider outdated practices and adapt to new insights for more effective patient care for all electrolyte management.
  • A Booster Dose of Knowledge: Key Updates and Late-Breaking Studies in Pharmacotherapy
    • 10:30 AM – 12:30 Pm
    • Description: Late-breaking studies are frequently published and can lead to practice changes before there is time to digest the literature. This program will cover key updates across the areas of neurology, infectious diseases, oncology, and solid organ transplantation in a rapid-fire review. Session speakers will summarize notable updates and crucial changes in their areas of expertise.
  • Adult Medicine PRN Focus Session — Substance Use Disorders Made Internal: Alcohol, Opioids, and Stimulants
    • 1:45 PM – 3:15 PM
    • Description: The purpose of this session is to update and empower hospital-based adult medicine practitioners to lead the care of acute alcohol, opioid, and stimulant withdrawal and guide management of the chronic disease. This session will reframe SUDs as a core internal medicine practice so that attendees will be able to identify and manage acute withdrawal and support safe discharge.
  • BCPPS Clinical Session — Risky Business: Maintaining Patient Safety and Pharmacy Compliance with REMS Drugs in the Pediatric Population
    • 1:45 PM – 3:15 PM
    • Description: The purpose of this session is to review drugs that have been assigned a Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) from the FDA and are commonly used in pediatrics. We will review the history of the FDA’s REMS program and discuss specifics about some of the individual drugs, including adverse effects, reasons for the REMS designation, monitoring parameters, counseling points, and details of the REMS requirements.
  • Cardiology PRN Focus Session — Clinical Conundrums in Cardiology: Case-Based Controversies
    • 1:45 PM – 3:15 PM
    • Description: This engaging session centers around four diverse cardiovascular cases with controversial data. Topics include the role of pharmacotherapies in Cardiac Kidney Metabolic (CKM) Syndrome, CV disease in women, anticoagulation management in structural heart interventions, and drug-induced cardiac arrhythmias.
  • Critical Care PRN Focus Session — Don't Go Breaking My Heart: Pharmacologic Management of Mixed Shock and Stress-Induced Atrial Fibrillation in Non-cardiac Surgery ICU Patients
    • 1:45 PM – 3:15 PM
    • Description: Through case-based discussion and practical application, learners will enhance their ability to assess benefit–risk tradeoffs, anticipate medication-related complications, and collaborate effectively within the interprofessional ICU team to optimize hemodynamic stability and patient outcomes.
  • Hematology/Oncology PRN Focus Session — Evolving Multiple Sclerosis Treatment: Pharmacologic Advances in Hematopoietic Stem Cell Transplantation (HSCT) and Cellular Therapy
    • 1:45 PM – 3:15 PM
    • Description: This session will explore the evolving role of advanced therapies in the management of multiple sclerosis (MS), integrating foundational disease knowledge with emerging cellular therapy applications.
  • BCPPS Clinical Session — Pediatric Antithrombotic Medications: Principles, Pitfalls, and Practice Pearls
    • 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM
    • Description: This session aims to provide a practical, evidence-informed overview of antithrombotic medications in pediatric patients, a population where thrombosis risk is rising, but high-quality pediatric data remain limited. The session focuses on indications, agent selection (anticoagulant and antiplatelet agents), dosing considerations, monitoring, and safety in common pediatric scenarios such as congenital heart disease, central venous catheters, postprocedural care, and transitions of care.
  • Central Nervous System PRN Focus Session — Not on My Watch: Myasthenia Gravis Background, Best Practices, and Breakthroughs
    • 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM
    • Description: Myasthenia gravis (MG) is a complex autoimmune neuromuscular disorder that demands nuanced, multidisciplinary management. This 90-minute session will equip clinical pharmacists with the knowledge and tools to optimize care across the therapeutic spectrum - from foundational principles to cutting-edge innovations. 
  • Nephrology PRN Focus Session — Kidney Stewardship: Medication Optimization from CKD to AKI and Back Again
    • 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM
    • Description: This session will offer a pharmacist-focused framework for recognizing common and uncommon nephrotoxins, preventing iatrogenic kidney injury, and optimizing pharmacotherapy for patients with CKD and AKI. Through case-based discussions, participants will practice applying clinical reasoning to individualize renal dose adjustments, evaluate nephrotoxic risks, and address management considerations across CKD and AKI.
  • Women's Health and Community Based PRN Focus Session — They Heard… What?! Tackling Women’s Health Misinformation with Confidence
    • 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM
    • Description: This session will include 3 speakers. One will cover topics in women’s health and gender-affirming care such as menopause, birth control, pregnancy, and transgender care. Another will cover common topics for community pharmacists such as adult vaccine misinformation and over-the counter misinformation. The third speaker will address building the skills to have positive conversations with patients to impact health. The goal of this session is to provide pharmacists with evidence-based information and practical tools to confidently address medical misinformation with their patients.

Sunday, October 18

  • Addressing Complex Substance Use Disorders Across the Age Spectrum
    • 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
    • Description: The rising incidence of polysubstance use requires pharmacists to play a pivotal role in treatment and community health management. This session explores the role of pharmacists in addressing polysubstance use disorders across age groups.
  • BCPPS/BCCCP/BCEMP Clinical Session — From Soot to Cells: Managing Carbon Monoxide and Other Rapid Knock Down Agent Toxicity in the Emergency Department
    • 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
    • Description: Using cases and an ED-ready algorithm, this session will equip emergency medicine pharmacists and interprofessional teams with a first-hour care pathway for CO, CN, and hydrogen sulfide (H2S) exposure, including recognition, antidote selection, logistics, and hyperbaric oxygen therapy decisions.
  • Geriatrics PRN Focus Session — From Hospital to Settling at Home: Age-Friendly Transitions in Care​
    • 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
    • Description: This continuing education program will explore the impact of Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) Age Friendly Hospital Measure and the Hospital Inpatient Quality Reporting (IQR) Program on clinical pharmacy practice in health-system settings. This program will also give an overview of the 5Ms framework which promotes the well-being of older adults.
  • When Blood is Thicker than Water: Updates in Anticoagulation Management
    • 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
    • Description: This session will discuss the ISTH guidance document’s patient-centered approach to optimize outcomes while minimizing risks, emphasizing the importance of individualized treatment plans while considering the severity of liver disease, bleeding risk, and patient preferences. Additionally, this session will review updated guidance to equip healthcare professionals with the knowledge and tools needed to effectively manage bleeding complications in patients on DOAC therapy, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes.
  • BCCCP/BCEMP Clinical Session — Calling Code ICH: Advancing the Care of ICH Patients Through Quality Improvement and Bundled Care
    • 2:15 PM – 3:45 PM
    • Description: This session aims to empower pharmacists to lead and optimize time‑sensitive care for patients presenting with spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH). By integrating evidence-based strategies, quality metrics, and lessons from institutions using a “Code ICH” model, participants will learn how to reduce treatment delays, standardize medication-related workflows, and collaborate effectively with interprofessional teams.
  • Infectious Diseases PRN Focus Session — Guideline Refresh: Navigating Updates in UTI and CAP Management
    • 2:15 PM – 3:45 PM
    • Description: The Infectious Disease (ID) PRN education session will focus on practice-changing updates for the management of urinary tract infections (UTI) and community-acquired pneumonia (CAP). Key national guideline recommendations, recent publications, controversies, and implementation strategies will be reviewed.
  • Pediatrics PRN Focus Session — Back to the Future: Why Today’s Vaccine Decisions Revive Yesterday’s Threats
    • 2:15 PM – 3:45 PM
    • Description: This session will provide a review of the most up-to-date data on vaccination rates in childhood across the United States. Presenters will aim to educate attendees on how to manage vaccine-preventable diseases.
  • Perioperative Care PRN Focus Session — Beyond Transfusion: Pharmacist-Driven Patient Blood Management and Hemostatic Stewardship in Cardiac Surgery
    • 2:15 PM – 3:45 PM
    • Description: This session will feature 3 speakers focused on proactive management of preoperative anemia and intraoperative strategies to minimize blood loss and unnecessary transfusions. Speakers will address key recommendations for effective use of anticoagulation and hemostatic pharmacotherapies and approaches to global coagulation monitoring across the adult cardiac surgery continuum.
  • HIV PRN Focus Session — Beyond the ART: Strategies to Enhance HIV Care in Primary Care Settings
    • 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM
    • Description: This session will explore strategies for integrating and strengthening HIV care in primary care settings and special populations, discuss literature and studies exploring cardiometabolic disease risk, treatment, and prevention in people living with HIV, and examine the impacts of polypharmacy within HIV care.​
  • Transplant PRN Focus Session — Check Yourself Before You Wreck Yourself: Management of ICIs in Solid Organ Transplant
    • 4:00 PM – 5:30 PM
    • Description: This session will enhance pharmacists’ knowledge of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs), including their oncologic use and key considerations during the pre- and post-transplantation phases.
  • BCOP/BCPPS Clinical Session — Guided by the Invisible: MRD-Driven Treatment Decisions in Pediatric and Adult Leukemia Care
    • 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM
    • Description: This educational session will equip pharmacists with a comprehensive understanding of minimal residual disease (MRD) and its evolving role in leukemia management across pediatric and adult populations.

Monday, October 19

  • BCOP Clinical Session — Through Cancer Treatment to End-of-Life: Updates in Supportive Care and Medical Aid-in-Dying (MAiD)
    • 8:45 AM – 10:45 AM
    • Description: This session will provide pertinent updates in Supportive Care for cancer, including cancer pain, cachexia, and cannabis use. The second half of this session will be devoted to end-of-life and Medical Aid-in-Dying (MAiD), which is rapidly expanding in practice in the United States.
  • BCACP/BCGP Clinical Session — ACT-CGM: Applying Continuous Glucose Monitoring to Reduce Clinical Inertia in Diabetes Management
    • 9:15 AM – 10:45 AM 
    • Description: This session will equip ambulatory care pharmacists with a practical, structured approach to interpreting continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) data and communicating concise, actionable medication recommendations within team-based care models for adult and older adult patients. Attendees will gain immediately applicable strategies to optimize therapy, reduce clinical inertia, minimize hypoglycemia risk, and align diabetes management with patient-specific goals of care.
  • BCCCP Clinical Session — The Big Squeeze: Mastering Rescue Therapies for Vasoplegia
    • 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM
    • Description: This session provides a comprehensive update on the pathophysiology and management of vasoplegia, specifically targeting pharmacists who practice in the operating room and ICU. This session will address critical knowledge gaps regarding selection and management of non-traditional agents in this setting. 
  • BCGP Clinical Session — Inappropriate Medications: Let's Kick the Habit!
    • 12:30 PM – 1:30 PM
    • Description: This session will use the AGS Beers Criteria® and the companion alternatives to prepare pharmacists to evaluate a medication regimen for inappropriate medications that have a poor risk to benefit ratio along with alternative options for the patient. Furthermore, the session will incorporate tools that will empower health care providers to develop a successful plan and communicate with patients/caregivers to achieve buy-in for deprescribing these inappropriate agents.
  • BCACP/BCGP Clinical Session — From Evidence to Action: UTI Updates in Ambulatory Care and Older Adults
    • 1:45 PM – 3:15 PM
    • Description: This session will provide an up to date, evidence-based overview of the latest guideline recommendations for urinary tract infection (UTI) management, including updates from the American Urological Association (AUA) Recurrent UTI Guideline and the 2025 Infectious Diseases Society of America (IDSA) Complicated UTI Guideline.
  • Emergency Medicine PRN Focus Session — Care of the Boarded Patient: Practical Clinical and Operational Strategies to Improve Emergency Department Care​
    • 1:45 PM – 3:15 PM
    • Description: The focus of this session will be to provide guidance from clinical EM and from administrative/operational viewpoints on ways to improve efficiencies and innovative practices to improve the care of the boarded patient.
  • Pulmonary PRN Focus Session — Bronchiectasis Unplugged: Clearing Airways, Preventing Flares, and Managing Persistent Infections
    • 1:45 PM – 3:15 PM
    • Description: This presentation will be organized into three sections: (1) pathophysiology and phenotyping, (2) updates in acute and chronic management, and (3) key considerations in chronic Pseudomonas aeruginosa and nontuberculous mycobacterial infection management.
  • BCEMP Clinical Session — Ketamine in the Emergency Department: Indications, Intensities, and Inherent Risks
    • 3:30 PM – 5:00 PM
    • Description: Ketamine is used for many unique ED indications including analgesia, procedural sedation, airway management (RSI), severe agitation, and refractory seizures. Differences exist in dose, intent, and risk profile by indication. This advanced, case-based session will guide ED pharmacists through common and high-risk ketamine use scenarios, emphasizing indication, sequencing (other medications), monitoring, and risk mitigation.

Tuesday, October 20

  • BCACP Clinical Session — It’s Not Just a Phase: Managing Menopause as a Multisystem Condition
    • 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM
    • Description: This session reframes menopause as a multisystem health transition, using real-world patient cases to illustrate how hormonal changes present across body systems in ambulatory care. Through a case-based format, participants will explore how menopause intersects with chronic disease risk, quality-of-life concerns, and medication management challenges commonly encountered by interprofessional teams.
  • Consensus Recommendation Highlights
    • 8:30 AM – 10:00 AM
    • Description: Authors of the recently published expert consensus recommendations will speak on beta-lactam dose individualization in acutely ill patients and the integration of clinical pharmacists into acute stroke care teams. Presenters will review the evidence, key implementation considerations, and practical strategies for optimizing medication-related outcomes, improving treatment timeliness, and overcoming barriers to adoption in clinical practice.
  • Endocrine and Metabolism PRN Focus Session — Pumped Up in Primary Care! Integrating Continuous Subcutaneous Insulin Infusion Management into Primary Practice

    • Description: The session will serve as a practical, comprehensive guide to understanding continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion technology and implementing these systems in clinical practice.
  • Pain and Palliative Care PRN and Perioperative PRN Focus Session — The Cutting Edge: Updates and Current Challenges in Perioperative Pain Management

    • Description: This comprehensive focus session addresses critical contemporary issues in pharmacy practice across diverse clinical settings. Participants will analyze Medication for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD) barriers through sophisticated PDMP interpretation and prescriber communication strategies, implementing the PhARM-OUD Guideline's 35 supporting strategies to reduce stigma-driven dispensing obstacles.
  • BCACP/BCGP Clinical Session — From Risk to Rescue: PrEP and PEP Essentials
    • 10:15 AM – 11:45 AM
    • Description: Medication therapy options for PrEP and PEP have evolved over time, and pharmacist involvement in the management of these patients has increased. The purpose of this presentation is to educate clinical pharmacists on updates related to PrEP and PEP services. 
  • GI/Liver/Nutrition PRN Focus Session — Evolving Horizons in Inflammatory Bowel Disease: Contemporary Pharmacotherapy and Emerging Therapeutic Targets​
    • 10:15 AM – 11:45 AM
    • Description: Management of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) continues to advance rapidly, with expanding biologic classes, novel small molecules, and evolving strategies for positioning therapy across disease phenotypes. This session will synthesize recent guideline updates, pivotal clinical trial data, and practical considerations for enhancing treatment selection, monitoring, and optimization.
