For World Hepatitis Day (every year on July 28th), we wanted to share an updated list of the latest guidelines related to hepatitis.
Health awareness days are helpful for highlighting specific health issues and educating people about those issues. That, in turn, helps raise public understanding which then helps increase prevention and decrease stigma.
Because viral hepatitis can be asymptomatic, raising public awareness is particularly crucial to reduce outbreaks of the disease. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, tens of thousands of Americans acquire viral hepatitis every year. By raising awareness, World Hepatitis Day can contribute to helping thousands more remain safe from the disease.
