- June 2025 Update
- The update reviewed literature published between March 2015 and May 2022. The objective of the update was to critically appraise recent research regarding intraoperative neuromonitoring during vestibular schwannoma surgery and update as needed.
Hearing Preservation Outcomes in Patients With Sporadic Vestibular Schwannoma

- The update reviewed literature published between the original guidelines’ publishing in 2018 through May 20, 2022. The objective of the update was to align the existing guidelines with the latest research on hearing preservation outcomes in patients with sporadic vestibular schwannoma.
Role of Imaging in the Management of Patients With Vestibular Schwannomas
- June 2025 Update
- The update reviewed literature published between January 1, 2015, through May 20, 2022. The objective of the update was to update the previous version of the guidelines from 2018. Following review, literature tables and summary statements were generated by a diverse writing group, which was then revised before formalized in this update.
Role of Audiologic Screening in the Diagnosis and Management of Patients With Vestibular Schwannomas

- The update reviewed literature published between January 1, 2015 through May 20, 2015. A review was conducted of the existing body of evidence based on certain criteria to determine the diagnostic yield of MRI for the diagnosis of vestibular schwannomas in patients with asymmetric sensorineural hearing loss, unilateral tinnitus, and sudden sensorineural hearing loss.
Surgical Resection for the Treatment of Patients With Vestibular Schwannomas
- June 2025 Update
- The update was the result of a literature review following the 2018 Congress of Neurological Surgeons Guideline on surgical intervention for patients with sporadic vestibular schwannomas. The review did not alter the recommendations from the 2018 publication. For questions with insufficient data available, an answer was unable to be created and is as noted.
