We curated a list of phase 3, therapeutic clinical trials related to heart disease and hypertension, that have an anticipated completion date within June of 2025. Once completed, it is required that the results be posted within one year of the primary completion date. These interventional clinical trials hold the promise of transforming treatment protocols for conditions like cardiac amyloidosis, tachycardia, and preeclampsia. The results of these trials may lead to updated clinical guidelines in the future.
Heart Disease & Hypertension Clinical Trials With Primary Completion Dates in June
| Primary Completion Date | Study Title | Summary | Conditions | Interventions |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| June 5, 2025 | A Study to Investigate the Efficacy and Safety of Baxdrostat in Participants With Uncontrolled Hypertension on Two or More Medications Including Participants With Resistant Hypertension | This is a study to evaluate the safety, tolerability and effect of 1 or 2 mg baxdrostat versus placebo, administered once daily (QD) orally, on the reduction of systolic blood pressure in approximately 720 participants aged ≥ 18 years with hypertension, despite a stable regimen of 2 antihypertensive agents at baseline, one of which is a diuretic (uncontrolled hypertension); or ≥ 3 antihypertensive agents at baseline, one of which is a diuretic (treatment-resistant hypertension). | Uncontrolled Hypertension, Resistant Hypertension | Baxdrostat, Placebo |
| June 27, 2025 | The Re-Prosper HF Study | The objective of this study is the treatment of outpatient veterans with HFrEF with probenecid to improve heart and health function. Specifically, the investigators are testing whether probenecid administered orally twice per day for 180 days improves heart function as measured via ultrasound of the heart; improves exercise capacity; and improves self-report heart failure specific health status as measured via questionnaires. | Heart Failure | Probenecid, Placebo |
| June 30, 2025 | Effect of RBT-1 on Reducing the Risk of Post-Operative Complications in Subjects Undergoing Cardiac Surgery | The purpose of this study is to evaluate the effect of RBT-1 on reducing the risk of post-operative complications in subjects undergoing cardiac surgery on cardiopulmonary bypass. A sub-study will also be conducted to evaluate the pharmacokinetic (PK) profile of a single administration of RBT-1 by means of a popPK approach in subjects scheduled to undergo cardiac surgery. | Post-Operative Complications in Cardiac Surgery | RBT-1, Placebo |
| June 30, 2025 | Molecular Imaging of Myocardial Fibrosis in Cardiac Amyloidosis | The primary aim of the study is to determine whether fibrosis in the heart can be measured with \[68Ga\]CBP8, a positron emission tomography (PET) probe, using PET/magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), in 30 individuals with documented cardiac amyloidosis. | Cardiac Amyloidosis | [68Ga]CBP8 PET/MRI |
| June 30, 2025 | Evaluation in STEMI Patients Using FDY-5301 | To assess the effect of FDY-5301 on cardiovascular mortality and acute heart failure events in subjects with an anterior STEMI undergoing pPCI. | Acute Myocardial Infarction, STEMI, Percutaneous Coronary Revascularization | FDY-530, Placebo |
| June 30, 2025 | Preeclampsia Postpartum Antihypertensive Treatment | The goal of this study is to compare whether antihypertensive treatment in the postpartum period decreases postpartum hypertension and its associated maternal morbidity, including risk of readmission and healthcare utilization in comparison with no treatment. Women with preeclampsia diagnosed during the antepartum, intrapartum or postpartum period will be randomized to either initiate antihypertensive treatment or standard of care. | Preeclampsia, Hypertension in Pregnancy | Labetalol, Nifedipine |
| June 30, 2025 | NO During CPB in Neonates to Reduce Risk of AKI | Acute kidney injury (AKI) following cardiac surgery for congenital heart defects (CHD) in children affects up to 60% of high risk-patients and is a major cause of both short- and long-term morbidity and mortality. Despite effort, to date, no successful therapeutic agent has gained widespread success in preventing this postoperative decline in renal function. Nitric oxide is an intricate regulator of acute inflammation and coagulation and is a potent vasodilator. | AKI/CHD, Congenital Heart Disease | Nitric Oxide, Oxygen |
| June, 2025 | A Study of Tirzepatide (LY3298176) Compared With Dulaglutide on Major Cardiovascular Events in Participants With Type 2 Diabetes | The purpose of the trial is to assess the efficacy and safety of tirzepatide to dulaglutide in participants with type 2 diabetes and increased cardiovascular risk. | Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus | Tirzepatide, Dulaglutide |
| June, 2025 | Etripamil Nasal Spray in Patients With Paroxysmal Supraventricular Tachycardia | This open label extension study will enable eligible patients with paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT) who have previously participated in a Milestone Pharmaceuticals clinical trial of etripamil NS for PSVT, to access continued treatment with etripamil NS, patients who experienced any significant safety issues during participation period in a previous clinical trial of etripamil NS, as per investigator's assessment , are excluded. This study will be conducted by investigators who previously participated in a Milestone Pharmaceuticals clinical trial and are trained on the use of etripamil NS. | Paroxysmal Supraventricular Tachycardia | Etripamil NS 70 mg; Aptar Pharma Nasal Spray Bidose System |
| June, 2025 | Comparative Effectiveness of Gadopiclenol for Evaluation of Adult Congenital Heart Anatomy and Hemodynamics | The goal of this clinical trial is to learn how well and at what doses gadopiclenol, a new intravenous (IV) contrast agent used for MRI, works to produce high-quality MRI images of the heart, in patients with a history of congenital heart disease, when compared to gadobenate dimeglumine, the IV contrast agent that is normally used at our institution for heart (cardiac) MRI. | Congenital Heart Disease | Gadopiclenol, Gadobenate dimeglumine |
