Clinicians have an ongoing responsibility to assess and address the mental health of their patients, particularly those with conditions known to affect psychological well-being. Integrating mental health assessment into routine care allows early identification of anxiety, depression, and other cognitive or emotional changes that can influence treatment adherence, symptom management, and overall prognosis.

In recognition of the importance of mental health monitoring, World Mental Health Day, observed every October 10, provides an opportunity to review the latest clinical guidance on mental health conditions.

The following guidelines, published or updated within the past year, span the mental health continuum and address conditions such as anxiety, borderline personality disorder, and substance use disorders.
