- Resource stratified guidelines provide recommendations given the level of resources in particular settings.
- Human papillomavirus (HPV) deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) testing is recommended in all resource settings; visual inspection with acetic acid may be used in the basic setting.
- Women who are human immunodeficiency virus (HIV)-positive should be screened for HPV after diagnosis and twice as many times throughout their lifetime as those in the general population.
